Join Takeda as a Senior Specialist/Manager Pharm Sci CAPEX Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management where you will support the global CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization) Management and Laboratory Operations functions of Pharmaceutical Sciences through preparation and execution of CAPEX purchase orders and invoices. You will also manage annual budget review for Pharm Sci and SPOT maintenance on behalf of organization. As part of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team you will report to Associate Director, CDMO Management.

How you will contribute:

  • Be a subject matter expert related to PS procure to pay of CAPEX needs, and budgeting in SPOT.
  • Be a contact relating to the preparation and execution of multiple contracts and other documents required to support global operations and purchasing of laboratory equipment or maintenance services to support Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Manage CAPEX contracting and purchasing training for new hires.
  • Collaborate with Takeda's Legal, Finance, and Technical departments to develop and implement business processes to negotiate and execute contracts for the purchase of laboratory equipment and maintenance services.
  • Ensure contracts and purchase orders meet the needs of the project teams, are executed on time, and consider risk.
  • Collaborate with personnel across global PS and other key functions (e.g. Discovery, Medical, Finance, Global Procurement, Legal) to ensure efficient cross-functional processes and communications.
  • Manage daily requests and queries to resolve issues with contracts, purchase orders, and invoices to maintain streamlined business operations.
  • Manage annual budget review and SPOT maintenance on behalf of organization in collaboration with R&D Finance and Technical Team leads
  • Be a contact within the CMO Management Team for Contract Operations and Purchase order generation for Lab Operations Group and Pharm Sci CAPEX
  • Subject Matter Expert for Takeda Pharmaceutical Sciences procure-to-pay process related to CAPEX and OEM
  • Partner with requesting Project Teams to achieve efficient contract workflow
  • Align and collaborate with important stakeholders that establishes seamless contract processes and terms (Lab Operations, Technical Functions, Vendor, Legal, Procurement, Finance, etc.).
  • CAPEX: Place Internal Order requests, create purchase orders, manage projects in SPOT, and find funds for projects.
  • OEM Management: Review equipment list for renewals, manage quote to purchase order process and invoice assistance.
  • Support Cambridge/Lexington move through purchase order creation, invoice management, and project budget allocation.
  • MYC/MRP: Work with US Pharm Sci groups collect funding needs and submit to finance.
  • Collaborate with Austria and Japan teams to align on CAPEX processes and design future state global process
  • Use the systems/tools needed to provide visibility to the above activities (ex. Ariba, Axxerion).
  • Coordinate with manager to provide Sr Leadership visibility to Vendor performance metrics and provide recommendations for adjustment to contract or vendor strategies.
  • Escalate business-critical issues effecting Operations and Management to manager.
  • Support communication and training of changes in procurement and vendor environment to stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or equivalent degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant contracts management and/or operations related experience in supply chain and/or pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical development
  • 4-8 years of professional experience
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical development, and must demonstrate knowledge of several allied fields, such as legal, procurement and/or manufacturing.
  • Develop and use knowledge to influence and guide stakeholders towards the accomplishment of goals.
  • Identify risks to multiple ongoing activities and propose appropriate risk response strategies.
