Byte is looking for an experienced Principal Frontend Software Engineer with excellent communication and documentation skills - with the ability to clearly explain complex technical plans. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and energetic with the ability to manage time efficiently and work effectively under pressure. They are passionate about raising the bar for systems design, testing, code quality, and maintainability. They will have a strong sense of ownership and are able to drive development of new projects to completion.

What You Will Do:

  • Keep management and other key personnel informed via timely communication
  • Attend weekly staff meetings to update management on issues and project status
  • Provide excellent communication, both written and verbal, for incident tracking, and timely updates on outstanding issues
  • Establish and comply with change management procedures
  • Ensure scheduled duties are performed in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Challenge our team and software to be even better
  • Define/Impact technical architecture and direction
  • Review the code of your peers
  • Advocate for standard methodologies
  • Facilitate engineering discussions
  • Mentor engineers
  • Participate in an inclusive, energetic, and highly multi-functional team
  • Brainstorm with individual development teams

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years as a front-end architect or similar role
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Recognized as a technical leader on your team for several years and have an impact beyond your team
  • Ability to lead teams in framing and solving difficult problems
  • Ability to work efficiently on several initiatives and projects at once, often with ambiguity and varying timelines
  • Ability to produce enterprise software architecture and designs that can be implemented by other teams.
  • Experience with: Javascript, modern Javascript based frameworks (React, Angular, etc.), Web Components, JSON, REST, and test-driven development tooling
  • Extensive experience developing consumer front-end applications services in a cloud environment
  • Experience defining, writing, and supporting reusable and maintainable UI components and API's
  • Ability to architect highly available and scalable solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
