Role description:

The Senior Tax Accountant will assist all US State and Local tax affairs related to the Arcadis North America domestic business, which may include Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as the tax affairs of Arcadis US' foreign operations. The focus of the role will be the US compliance of our operations, including filing federal, state, and local tax returns, responding to tax inquiries from tax authorities, assisting the business with one off tax issues. Given the growing footprint of the Arcadis Group, the successful candidate will be able to learn the company's footprint and support a wide spectrum of tax issues like corporate income taxation, partnership taxation (federal and state), transfer pricing, controversy etc. The successful candidate will join and be an active part of the Arcadis global Tax Department, The Netherlands.

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage tax compliance calendar.
  • Preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers, including estimates, extensions, and state apportionment calculations.
  • Preparation of income tax provisions under IFRS 12-based tax reporting and accounting, including analysis of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, etc.
  • Research tax matters and provide support to the US and global tax team members.
  • Assist with calculations for quarterly and year-end tax provision and income tax compliance.
  • Assist as needed in providing information to Accounting team related to tax reporting and tax accounting, including analysis of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, etc.
  • Partner with outside tax consultants on various projects, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with accounting, legal and other corporate departments (US and non-US) to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation and practices.
  • Assist with tax controversies, audits and responding to notices.
  • Identify and communicate accounting matters to other engagement team members.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years related tax experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or related field).
  • Experience with federal and state income tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting and reporting under IFRS or US GAAP.
  • Experience as tax advisor.

  • Desire to learn and grow within the tax field and embrace opportunities to increase knowledge and learn new skills.
  • Experience with corporate processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).
  • Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in the technology environment. Experience with ONESOURCE Income Tax, Oracle, SAP BPC, and Onestream is preferred.
  • Experience with preparing foreign forms 5471, 5472, 8858s.
  • Critical thinker with ability to pivot and problem solve.
  • Openness to working in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Pro-active and results driven.
  • Ability to spot issues and regularly work towards improvement initiatives, both when asked for as well as on own initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and communication skills.
  • Strict adherence to professional ethics.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules:

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401K plan, STD and LTD, and Life Insurance as well as some additional optional benefits.

Full time positions also come with annual PTO days and at certain levels a bonus program may apply.

The Salary range for this role is $65,936-102,336 (of our internal ranges) for Colorado based positions only. Other locations will vary in salary range.
