Role summary: The Business Project Senior Advisor is aligned to a portfolio of Projects in the Service Operations Solution Delivery organization. Primary responsibility is to lead and deliver projects, ensuring operational readiness, in the Service Operations organization. Responsible for leading approved medium to high complexity projects or components of a large project impacting multiple business units or operational units.

Core Responsibilities/Primary Focus :

  • Manages large, complex, multi-functional projects to delivery, using a variety of methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid).
  • Manages scope, schedule, and resources to deliver the required capabilities on time and within budget while appropriately ensuring the business is ready and risks are mitigated.
  • Develops detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Proactively identifies risks and creates contingency/mitigation plans.
  • Identifies key stakeholders, gather needs, and implement appropriate stakeholder governance.
  • Manages project budget and costs; explain and take action on variances +/- 25% per the Estimate At Completion report or other required financial reporting.
  • Completes project/intake requests as needed.
  • Submits requests for Impact Assessments, Rough Order of Magnitude or IEPs. Facilitates discussions with SMEs and business partners to provide IEP team with information needed.
  • Ensures solutions will realize Service Operations' project benefits (e.g. KPIs such as OpEx save, tNPS) and documents benefits.
  • Facilitates business decision making to ensure solutions align with strategy and can be sustained by Operations.
  • Defines and consults on measurement strategies, tools, scorecards and surveys.
  • Champions organization's project management methodology, tools, and techniques.
  • Maintains all required project reporting including, PMO dashboard, Operational Readiness dashboard, status updates and any other ad-hoc requirements of program; minimum of monthly updates.
  • Represents the business during the portfolio funding process, communicating funding decisions and gaining buy in from business partners and IT on business funding prior to allocations taking place.
  • Ensures all project close activities are completed such as retrospectives or lessons learned.
  • Ensures transition plan to business as usual is documented, socialized, agreed to by stakeholders.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • PM Certification (PMP, MPM, etc.), Agile Certification/Scrum Master/Product Owner Experience strongly preferred
  • Fluent Microsoft Office skills - PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship building and team integration skills
  • Must be able to shift comfortably between micro and macro, desk level discussions, and senior leader report-outs
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in uncertain and/ or ambiguous environments
  • Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects
  • Strong change leadership skills
  • Able to work comfortably with management and functional leaders
  • Developing knowledge of the interdependencies among business units and matrix partners
  • Looks for innovative ways to complete deliverables
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results required.

Leadership:

  • Must be self-directed
  • Able to influence in direct and matrix environment

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related work experience or 7 years of related project management work experience is strongly preferred.

This role is WAH which allows work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
