The main function of the SharePoint Developer is to develop and design SharePoint web sites and design forms. Developers are responsible for ensuring that requirements are met, and the developed solution is technically sound. Developer must be able to demonstrate good communications and technical skills as well as a team player and function effectively to implement change in a diverse organization. Developer must know and follow industry standard best practices for architecting solutions, including design patterns and Agile methodologies. The SharePoint Developer will employ technologies that adhere to standards established by the organization, contractual requirements, industry standards and best practices and compliance with HIPAA and related security regulations.

This position will allow the successful candidate to work a primarily remote schedule based in North Carolina or may come into the Alliance onsite- office as preferred.

Responsibilities& Duties

SharePoint Development

  • Design, develop, debug, test, deploy, document, and maintain SharePoint solutions.

  • Using out-of-the-box functionality, as well as custom SharePoint forms and development using SharePoint Framework SPFx.

  • Implement, deploy, package, and maintain intranet portal site and SharePoint site.

  • Experience with SharePoint Online (SPO) and Power Apps, including Flow, Power Automate to create workflows and customize SharePoint lists, libraries, and pages.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SDLC process, performing unit testing, and packing to deploy from development to Production.

  • Contribute to the process development and best practice. Look at new ways to improve resilience, performance levels and supportability.

  • Keep abreast of technical developments of operational importance to the agency and to participate in developing or setting standards as directed.

SharePoint Administration

  • Experience with SharePoint administration including service applications, site collection, site pages, custom lists, content types, security AD groups& roles and PowerShell.

  • SharePoint server maintenance work may be required after hours.

  • Follow SharePoint best practices in content management and taxonomy.


  • Participate in the architectural design, development, customization, and integration efforts of solutions involving collaboration, portals, content management, and workflows.

  • Ability to discuss solution with end users, understanding their business needs and how to.

  • Work closely with the project managers, QA team and other project development team members to execute solutions per requirement. leverage SharePoint and supporting technologies to create customized solutions.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.


  • Develop both technical and end user documentation.

  • Ensure that applications and related services are documented and kept current.

End user Support

  • Aid with on-going SharePoint websites/Intranet application maintenance.

  • Handle support tickets.

  • Provide training for end users.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience using SharePoint Online/O365 and SharePoint on Premise 2013/2016 site development, programming, administration, and management.

Preferred Experience

Migration experience from SP 2010/ 2013/2016 to SharePoint online/O365 preferred.

Additional Training Preferred

Microsoft certified training in the areas specifically support by this position preferred.
