The Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Evaluator is responsible for scheduling and completing administration of the SIS, to include scoring the assessment and preparing a summary report. In addition, the SIS Evaluator may conduct other assessments/evaluations as requested.
Duties and Responsibility
Assessment/Evaluation and Collaboration
- Schedule and administer the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) as assigned
- Conduct assessments consistent with American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) standards and validity pertaining to the SIS tool
- Provide analysis and interpretation of SIS results. Prepare written reports of the results of assessments, including conclusions/recommendations as appropriate, in a timely manner
- Ensure responsiveness to feedback/questions/concerns from individuals, families and providers related to the SIS
- Collaborate with other members of the SIS team to ensure consistency between interviewers and over time
- Assist as needed with development of operational/training materials related to Supports Intensity Scale
- Assist with provision of education/training as needed to promote positive outcomes of SIS initiatives.
- Participate as a member the SIS Supplemental Questions Verification Committee
- Enter assessment related information into Jiva as assigned
Requirements
Masters degree in a humans services field with one years of post-degree progressive experience providing similar services to the population served; or Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a human services field with two years of professional developmental disabilities experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Work experience with all age groups of people with ID.In order to be successful in this role the candidate must be flexible and have willingness to donecessary travel to complete needed assessments; must also be willing to go into a variety of settings including day programs, group homes, and homes of Alliance members for all four counties tocompleteassessments.
Knowledge and Skills
- This position requires training by an AAIDD approved trainer to have a good working knowledge of the essential skills required for conducting SIS assessments.
- This position requires strong interview skills, good active listening ability, comfortable rapport with people of all backgrounds, and a good sense of when additional inquiry/questioning is required to clarify ambiguity.
- This position also requires excellent group facilitation skills.
- This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, highly effective communication ability, and the propensity to make prompt independent decisions based upon relevant facts and established processes. Problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential to balance the needs of both internal and external customers.
- The employee must be detail oriented, able to independently organize multiple tasks and priorities, and to effectively manage an assigned caseload under pressure of deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
- This position requires successful completion of assessment evaluator training and Inter-Rater Quality Review (IRQR) certification within 3 months of employment and annual re-certification.
Salary Range
$21.09 - $36.31/Hourly
