Job Profile

The Solution Consultant is part of a team responsible for supporting and enabling sales of the VIAVI Visibility, Intelligence and Analytics (VIA) portfolio of Core & Radio Access assurance solutions, including the recently acquired EXPANDIUM products across the Asia Pacific region.

In this role the Solution Consultant will be expected to work closely with the relevant Sales team(s) and with the VIA Business Unit.

The Solution Consultant will need to understand how VIAVI and competitive solutions are deployed in their target account(s) and/or geography, the technical and strategic drivers behind the deployment and how those drivers may change over time. The Solution Consultant must also take a proactive approach to ensure current and future VIAVI products and services support business objectives and counter competitive threats.

The Solution Consultant will work closely with the sales team and take responsibility for high-level technical demonstrations of VIAVI product solutions in front of customers and in joining selected VIAVI events (technical seminars, webinars and roadshows). The individual will have to transfer product and related technology knowledge to the Sales team and in conjunction with Sales, will be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in the assigned region/account(s).

This is a home-based role with significant travel requirements (currently suspended).


  • Drive technical aspects of VIA solution sales to assigned territory/accounts in the APAC region by demonstrating how our solution capabilities create value for customers and develop use cases through:
    • Leading technical discovery and account review workshops
    • Presenting Solution capabilities & value to both customers and internal stakeholders
    • Leading Proof of Concept exercises when necessary
    • Leading the delivery of customer-specific Solution Descriptions and technical RFx responses
  • Deliver high level pre-sales technical support to our customers and sales teams on the VIAVI VIA portfolio: mobile network, service and customer assurance across all network technologies covering 2/3/4/5G and associated services.
  • In conjunction with Sales, to be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in defined accounts and/or territories.
  • Understand how VIAVI products are deployed and used in the account(s), the various technical and strategic drivers behind each deployment throughout the lifecycle by ensuring regular contact with installed base customers to confirm that ongoing value is being realized.
  • Share experiences and best practices across the VIAVI global Solution Consultant team members.
  • Facilitate customer feedback to the VIA Business Unit (Product Line/R&D) in order to ensure our soutions continue to meet customer demands.
  • Self-motivated in penetrating opportunities and accounts for sales enablement
  • Measure progress, gaps and recovery actions when needed.
  • Travel Required: generally circa 50% + (currently suspended).
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Relevent Technology Degree with a degree in either Telecommunications Science or Electronics Engineering a plus.
  • Ideally a minimum 5 years post graduate experience in Telecommunications Core networks engineering.
  • Understanding of mobile network concepts across Radio and Core network.
  • Understanding of both physical and virtual network deployments, preferably microservices understanding.
  • Particular experience in analyzing and interpreting network/service/customer data in support of developing and justifying business use cases is also sought.
  • Proven experience in using/pre-sales technical support with major Network Assurance Solution vendors.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English, Mandarin also preferred.
