Environmental Compliance Senior Analysts specialize in data aggregation, analyses and forecasting for environmental compliance programs across US operations. Senior analysts utilize subject matter expertise in Best Buy data systems and compliance programs to developed metrics and provide insight into the performance of environmental compliance programs. Senior Analysts aggregate and analyze data required to demonstrate compliance and identify areas of improvement. Senior analysts work cross-functionally with business partners to support compliance programs and communicate compliance information across US operations and/or with external stakeholders.

This role will primarily support the electronics and appliances recycling managers (waste hauling and logistics centers/packaging recycling are secondary and as schedule permits). This role will focus on operational day to day execution and will facilitate and contribute to creation of the operational plan. This role is responsible for delivering an aligned and comprehensive plan to maximize the customer experience, the employee experience, and ensuring that assigned programs run consistently and problem-free. The senior specialist supports the assigned program managers with run the business activities and contributes to category and project work.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Compliance Program Management (Electronics and Appliance Recycling)
Respond and provide support to Retail and Logistics departments for electronics and appliances recycling program operations with direct responsibility for execution against operational plans and processes
Drive operational efficiency and consistency, address immediate systematic breakdowns, and provide resolutions to internal/external partners in a timely manner
Proactively work to ensure operational efficiencies are identified, acted upon, financial opportunities are maximized
Support program manager as they gain alignment with cross functional partners to drive business
Act as operational SME and represent field feedback throughout decision making process

2) Data Analysis:
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in data sets to support operations
Collect and analyze data sets to produce performance metrics
Utilize data sets to support seasonality planning to prevent program risks, breakdowns and services interruptions
Develop ad hoc reporting supporting agency inquiries and compliance projects
Use existing reporting systems and capabilities to identify opportunities and close gaps in operational execution of the appliances and electronics recycling programs
Work with Recycling Team, IT and other needed partners to identify reporting needs and develop solutions that will drive results and provide report out capabilities to field partners

3) Licensing, Permitting and Reporting
Perform quality assurance/quality control of data used for permits, reports and performance metrics
Maintain centralized record keeping process for environmental permits and annual reporting obligations

4) Environmental Enforcement
Manage records and documentation related to environmental inspections and government inquiries

Basic Requirements:
2 years environmental compliance or related field experience in environmental services, retail and/or supply chain
1.5+ years experience in analyzing data and statistics and translate results into business/operational solutions
Intermediate SharePoint proficiency
Intermediate Microsoft suite proficient
