Sr Analyst - Stress Test & Capital Reporting

The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the capital stress tests at First National, and regular periodic capital and other reports. The Sr. Analyst will assist with industry and peer research to continually improve internal practices while staying informed on regulatory developments.

Capital stress tests

  • Develop forecasts for stress tests components as required
  • Be the first line of defense to ensure that forecasts, outputs and assumptions are reasonable
  • Assist in developing cross functional project plans to define the tasks and owners for deliverables
  • Interface between Treasury and other groups involved in the stress tests
  • Ensure that models and methodologies used in the stress test architecture comply with applicable risk management requirements
  • Compile materials to summarize outputs and results for various levels of audience
  • Maintain and update guidelines governing stress tests
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during audits, validations and regulatory reviews as necessary

Capital Reporting

  • Run monthly reports to monitor capital and cash positions for Business as Usual
  • Support in developing summary output materials and senior management reporting
  • Stay abreast of regulatory and market current events by researching and assisting to implement new regulations
  • Assist with research and financial analysis as required
  • Support team in the development of other senior management reporting materials
  • Conduct Treasury-wide assumptions challenge sessions
  • Perform model validations as required


  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with departmental/divisional policy.


  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.
  • Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.
  • Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
  • If applicable, ensure direct reports meet the above requirements and take action to address employee performance issues.


Master's degree in business administration, finance, economics, statistics or equivalent experience

First rate competency with MS Excel, Essbase, SnL Financial Data Services

Working knowledge of:

  • Bank capital, liquidity and funding structures
  • Risk Management philosophy, framework and design
  • Credit - provision & reserve modeling and methodology
Communication Skills Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships, listen and actively contribute to discussions
  • Demonstrates a consultative approach with the ability to analyze stakeholder needs

Excellent project and time management skills with ability to multi-task and organize several concurrent accountabilities
