Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a full time Sr. Benefits Specialist at our central business office in Westerville, OH. The Sr. Benefits Specialist is a key member of the Total Rewards team and supports the development and administration of employee benefit plans (including health & welfare, retirement, wellness, rewards and recognition). Assists with the design, implementation, compliance and communications of all benefits programs. Works with employees, physicians, managers and vendor partners to ensure timely and accurate customer service and administration of the benefits. Will also assist with compensation-related programs and projects as needed.



Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans and programs. Provide customer services to employees, physicians and managers to answer benefit questions and resolve problems. Ensure issues/questions are responded to and resolved promptly. Coordinate with benefit plan vendors and providers as applicable.

  • Research new benefit, compensation and total rewards programs and policies; develop proposals for enhancements and revisions. Assist with and/or lead RFP and bid processes for plan vendors/programs and coordinate the planning, implementation and administration of new programs.

  • Educate and assist employees with the 401(k) retirement plan. Coordinate with vendor partners to conduct educational programs related to retirement plans. Coordinate onsite/virtual meetings with retirement plan administrators and advisors and related communications. Work with vendors on annual reporting and non-discrimination testing towards resolution.

  • Develop and prepare communication materials and information about benefit programs, procedures, changes and government-mandated disclosures, plan documents and SPDs. Assist with the development and facilitation of benefit presentations, including new hire orientation, educational programs, etc. Assist with the coordination of the annual Open Enrollment process including vendor coordination and employee communications.

  • Keep up-to-date on federal and state legislation and trends affecting benefit and compensation plans, programs and policies; ensure compliance with all regulations, reporting requirements and related communications.

  • Assist with compensation-related projects as needed. This may include benchmarking and participation in surveys for compensation and benefits to obtain market data, data on compensation and/or benefit trends and best practices, and competitiveness of current compensation and benefit programs.

  • Identify strategies for implementing new and revised procedures and programs to streamline processes and improve service delivery.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, finance; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Completion of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation preferred.

  • Four to six years' experience in a benefits role; considerable knowledge and demonstrated work experience in all areas of employee benefit programs.

  • Experience with HRIS/Benefits Admin systems required; UltiPro Prime/PlanSource preferred.

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) along with strong analytic skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience with vendor selection process, including assisting in preparing RFPs, the selection process and implementation of new programs.

  • Highly collaborative with the capability to build cross-functional relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

  • Thorough understanding of all applicable federal and state regulations regarding benefits, including Section 125, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and FMLA.

  • Experience with wage and hour regulations preferred.
