Sr. Director, Finance

Senior Director, Finance will provide financial and strategic decision support to the business to ensure achievement of short and long term financial goals. Partnering with management, the successful candidate will facilitate the understanding of key business dynamics including productivity analysis, margin improvement, pricing, and business analysis (such as client retention, loss reporting and quality metrics). Driving financial best practices, the Senior Director will optimize financial opportunities regarding revenue enhancement and expense management throughout the organization. In addition, you will act as a support function for the operating plan, forecast process, and management reporting/financial close activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Key Stakeholders and Business Partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Constructively communicates compelling arguments based on facts & data and obtains necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives.
  • Partners with senior/general management in setting direction and managing key priorities such as client profitability and retention, competitive position, expense management, product enhancements and other business opportunities.
  • Collaborates successfully in a matrixed organization with functions such as Sales, Implementation and Marketing; supports Pricing analytics and decision-making as needed.
  • Uses deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provides insightful, fact-based data-driven analysis to help solve complex problems.
  • Provides financial and strategic decision support to senior management to ensure achievement of short and long term financial goals.
  • Assists management in understanding the business dynamics which includes productivity, relationships, model, trends, leading indicators and business statistics.
  • Partners with business leadership to develop strategies, business cases and initiatives to drive growth and margin improvements. Executes on strategic initiatives such as M&A support, product launches, market entry, and process improvement efforts.
  • Maintains an awareness of general economic, competitive, business and financial conditions and communicates impact on business operations to key stakeholders.
  • Creates annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and performs forecasting to provide visibility into business results to enable business decisions.
  • Provides consultative input or business analyses to support operating planning and forecasting.
  • Drives identification of best practices related to financial operations policies and procedures; recommends modifications as needed.
  • Ensures continued compliance with all policies and practices such as Loss Reporting/Technical Lost Business.
  • Responsible for management & ad-hoc reporting; partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS -- Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
  • 10+ Years of Experience MBA Finance or MS in Business Analytics or similar degree.
  • Prior experience in digital payments and/or large consumer goods/services organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge financial and strategic concepts and business modelling; apply strategic understanding of business drivers and competitive forces in both consumer and business environments to formulate strategies and implement actions.
  • Solid knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and experience with financial systems/applications (e.g. Hyperion and Oracle).
  • Business process improvement.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task and proactively manage workload with competing priorities.
  • Proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of completing a diverse workload timely.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic with self-accountability for high quality deliverables and achieving departmental goals.
  • Hands-on, meticulous, but also be able to step back and see the bigger strategic picture.
  • People Leadership experience an asset (direct or indirect).
