Primary Function of Position:

The Senior Logistics Compliance Analyst is responsible for executing logistics policies and procedures to ensure import and export transactions are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to adhere to customs regulations during execution of international shipments and importation of raw material and finished goods. Assure customs documentation is completed per customs specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support compliant processing of international shipping activities
  • Support manual creation of shipping documentationincluding, but not limited to, shipping invoices, packing list, shipper's letter of instruction, and other required certifications
  • Responsible for ensuring resolution of various inquiries and requests from customs brokers, freight forwarders, clients, and government agencies to resolve border crossing issues associated with customs and OGA/PGA holds
  • Research of Customs and OGA/PGA regulations
  • Assess import and export compliance with global customs regulations and best practices
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain various aspects of trade complianceprogram
  • Provide training and support to team members to improve working skills and new working process
  • Manage IT projects, enhancements, and defects related to logistics and trade compliance from justification, business requirements, development, testing, go-live and production support
  • Audit import and export documentation to ensure accurate filings
  • Procure raw data from various sources and create concise and meaningful reports
  • Establish, maintain, and report relevant KPI metrics
  • Monitor Regional Customs and Trade Compliance Regulatory changes
  • Contribute to development and on-going maintenance of US Import and Export compliance procedures
  • Assist in management and support of freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Ensure product classification and other trade data available with brokers, periodic audit entry packages and export declarations for accuracy, and ensure adherence to record retention policy.
  • Establish and maintain Broker and Freight Forwarder scorecard.
  • Ensure that company procedures including SOX, Customs and FDA requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Implement short-term problem containment and long-term corrective actions for distribution and customs issues.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of current systems and processes.
  • Identify gaps within the department and develop plans to close as necessary.
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 7+ years of international trade experience, focusing primarily on internationallogisticsand trade compliance
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task and minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to drive decision-making in a fast-paced environment with on-demand requests
  • Work effectively both independently andcollaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to delivercreativeand practical solutions to solve complexlogisticsand trade compliance issues
  • Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong working experience with SAP SD/MM and related transactions and outputs
  • Strong working experience with databases, enterprise resource planning (ERP) global trade automation solutions, and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) functionality
  • Understanding and experience with the medical device industry, FDA regulatory environment, and importation of medical devices
  • BA / BS degree orequivalent practical experience considered
  • U.S. Customhouse Broker License a plus
  • Some business travel (10%) will be required
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
