Perspecta is seeking to fill a critical role for a Sr. Mid-Tier Administrator-SME, in this role you will be responsible for all facets of administering war fighting web systems at USSTRATCOM.

  • Responsibilities include installing, configuring, securing, and optimizing complex enterprise web and middleware deployments on Linux platforms.
  • Deploying and integrating government developed applications into the web/middleware environment.
  • Server environments are subject to strict uptime requirements and secured per stringent DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Environment heavily utilizes infrastructure as code principles and Ansible to provision commercial and government software.
  • Knowledge of Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment using WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or similar class server systems.
  • Broad understanding of web technologies to include application and web servers, load balancers, browsers, protocols, data formats, markup and programming languages, and SSL
  • Experience with administering application server architectures in large enterprise environments utilizing WebLogic, JBoss, or similar servers



  • Active DoD Top Secret/SSBI, must be able to obtain TS/SCI
  • Bachelors degree in related IT discipline or 8 12 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience using Linux command line and basic Linux architecture
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting Java-based web applications
  • 5+ years of Shell and/or Python scripting experience
  • 5+ years of experience with load balancing technologies such as HA Proxy is a plus
  • Required to perform on-call duties and regular after hours work requests
  • Must obtain/maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)within 6 months of hire


  • Experience following DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to customers and senior leaders
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins is a plus
  • Familiarity with Docker and VMWare is a plus
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure as code principles and the use of technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt
  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle and SQL
  • Knowledge of identity management solutions such as Oracle IAM or Red Hat-Single Sign-On is a plus
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundations
