The Impact Youll Make in this Role
As a Sr. Research Electrochemist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Designing and synthesizing new electroactive materials for oxidation and reduction reactions and conducting mechanistic studies of interactions between organic molecules and electrochemically controlled environments.
  • Using appropriate analytical/characterization tools including electrochemical techniques.
  • Performing literature and patent searches, scout for new technologies, and actively develop intellectual property and patentable inventions.
  • Working in a team environment and mentoring less experienced group members.
  • Supporting the Polymer Science group priorities by contributing to high-impact NTI programs and identifying and leveraging external interactions to accelerate technology development.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Four (4) years research laboratory (academic and/or industry) experience within a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience in publishing high impact journal articles (impact factor (IF) greater than ten
  • Experience with electrochemistry and physical organic chemistry to study the interactions between organic molecules and electrochemically controlled environments
  • Experience designing and synthesizing new electroactive materials for oxidation and reduction reactions
  • Experience presenting at external conferences

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: Is authorized
