Responsibilities
- Assess financial reporting risks specific to the United States. Perform GAAP research and work with the technical accounting group on local accounting practices.
- Understand local impact of new accounting standards and provide input for global accounting policies.
- Provide guidance for transactions processed by Global Business Services ("GBS"). Approve journal entries prepared by GBS.
- Prepare or review monthly account reconciliations utilizing the Blackline reconciliation tool.
- Complete year-end accounting package and schedules used in compiling the consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare or review journal entries for country specific accruals and other judgmental accounts.
- Prepare or review schedules provided to the external auditors as part of the annual audit.
- Complete month-end close activities for the United States.
- Support requests from the Global Tax department, including supporting tax audits and the annual tax return filing.
- Support local governmental compliance audits and filings.
- Support other reporting initiatives as appropriate by soliciting needs, obtaining feedback and enabling delivery of reporting.
Requirements
- Experience: 1+ years of public or industry accounting experience.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
- Skills - Ideal candidate will display an ability to frame and evaluate complex issues quickly and possess strong problem resolution and communication skills.
