Primary Purpose:
The Instrument Specialist, Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing and checking the work of the instrument processing technicians. Uses surgical knowledge and expertise to help others refine their expertise in SPD. Is a liaison to the OR speciality team and the Perioperative Team Managers in regards to special tray assemby needs. Serves as Shift Supervisor as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
Education: AA required, BA/BS recommended
Years of Experience: 3 years in SPD management required, 5 years recommended.
