OVERVIEW:

The Surgical Synergy Program Development Consultant-I is responsible for driving deep account penetration and new user adoption of navigation and robotic technologies into spine surgery and spinal accounts. Through job related synergies in technical expertise, core spine rep training, and end user training; this individual will drive adoption of these technologies through their technical, clinical, and sales aptitude. This individual will also represent the company in accordance with its policies and in the area assigned.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Continually trains Spinal Sales Reps and Clinical Specialists to increase their knowledge of the latest Robotic technologies
• Gives spinal presentations to hospital administration, surgical services staff and surgeons on Robotic technologies
• Educates and trains physicians and hospital personnel - OR, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical and Information Technologies - on technical matters relating to Robotic spinal surgery products
• Participates in in-house sponsored customer training at designated sites
• Provides a clinical resource for surgeons, clinicians and others being trained
• Drives training of Clinical Specialists on proper utilization and technique of robotic technology in spinal procedures
• Attends and participates in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed
• Works in tandem with the Spinal Sales and Neurosurgery Reps to identify prospective new users for Robotics
• Works in concert with Medtronic Spine and Biologic Reps on local projects, programs and Satellite Training Center activities where appropriate
• Cooperate with all personnel on the execution of Company programs
• Convert multiple surgeons per year to robotic spinal procedures
• Ensures Clinical Specialists are up to speed on all robotic spine procedures (e.g. MAST DLIF, TLIF)
• Help transition from installation to complete spinal robotic integration at an account (e.g. spinal procedure training, etc.)
• Lead to convert additional surgeons at a facility with one Robotic champion
• Lead to spearhead Robotic re-use in spine at a facility where the surgeon champion has left, and the Robotic system is collecting dust
• Resource for Robotic surgeon champions to answer thirst for advanced spinal use
• Coordinates efforts with the local Medtronic Navigation team and Computer Assisted Surgery Specialist to provide support for the key spine cases and allow the Medtronic Navigation team to focus in other key areas
• Create and implement an annual business plan with quarterly updates
• Submit reports and provide information as directed
• Adhere to company policies and conduct all business in an ethical manner
• Comply with all Medtronic Sofamor Danek policies

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree AND 3 years of sales experience with 1 of those 3 years in medical sales; or
• Bachelor's Degree ABD 1 year of Medtronic RTG (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep I experience plus 2 years of prior clinical or medical sales experience.

Nice to Have:

• Ortho, Spine or O.R. experience preferred.

• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
