The Lead Surveillance Technician responsible for the administration and maintenance of the department's LAN as well as installing and maintaining electronic surveillance equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for LAN design, installation, administration, and maintenance.
• Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves network problems and performance issues.
• Responsible for the setup and maintenance of security settings on workstations and switches; maintains antivirus software, firewalls, switch port security, and strong password policies.
• Maintains the Storage Area Network.
• Maintains electronic surveillance equipment such as recorders, matrix and controller unit; performs repairs, installations, modifications and upgrades.
• Develops surveillance systems and installs necessary equipment to provide the best coverage of required surveillance areas throughout the property.
• Provides technical support and training to operators and inspectors.
• Writes and presents project proposals for department needs.
• Coordinates project needs and requirements with appropriate departments and outside contractors.
• Coordinates with distributors/suppliers and organizes purchasing accounts for equipment and parts.
• Keeps technical aspects of the department organized, to include accurate filing for all projects, equipment acquisitions, pricing, warranty information, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Horseshoe from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to Horseshoe disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to move freely about the office in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
• This position requires medium physical work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
• No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions (indoor office setting).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Associate's Degree in Network Administration or related field (preferred).
• Three to five years of related experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and ability to troubleshoot networking issues.
• Certification in CompTIA Network+ and A+ preferred. In consideratation
• Technical background in electronic theory and practice.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/schematic and flow diagrams.
• Ability to use hand tools and specialty electronic tools for repair and installation of equipment.
• Must be able to successfully apply for and obtain a L-2 Indiana Gaming License which will include a thorough background investigation.
• Troubleshooting network issues: 3 years (Preferred)
• Reading and interpreting electrical/schematic: 1 years (Preferred)
• CCTV experience 3 years (Preferred)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees of the organization.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures. Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations.
