  • As a technical IT Product Owner, be thoughtful about the experience and reinforce the "why" behind Cigna and Evernorth's Business, IT, Data and Analytic needs
  • Understand the architecture supporting data, machine learning and analytic capabilities while moving through enterprise platforms and systems
  • Participate in strategizing and presenting ideas to stakeholders
  • Lead the development and delivery process
    • Ensure that the value of the customer experience and the "why" remains the focus through the breakdown and delivery of work
    • Provide servant-leadership for teams and support continuous improvement activities to help a team consistently deliver working code
    • Own, develop, and maintain a healthy backlog of features and stories
    • Lead your team through the refinement of user stories, ensuring that the business value remains the focus
    • Coordinate teamwork efforts to maximize velocity and value delivery
    • Manage and prioritize product backlog items across multiple delivery objectives
    • Accept stories to ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria - validate with the Product Manager that the stories accomplish the feature level definition of done
  • Coordinate and complete release activities including release notes, communications, user documentation, and reporting
  • Prepare release demos for Product Manager, Experience Owners, Business Product Owners, and project stakeholders
  • Maintain a bug triage and coordinate with L3 support process


Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to interpret agreed upon standards, proper transmission/use/consumption practices, data quality, and the logistics required by governance
  • Experience implementing a strategy and direction for a product
  • Experience helping build a Roadmap with a Product Manager and business stakeholders
  • Experience managing a product that exchanges data
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Experience delivering products built with partnerships between in-house development team and vendors
  • Experience working with Data, Service APIs, Big Data, and Analytics platforms
  • Experience working with Cloud Architectures
  • Experience with AI and/or Machine Learning

A Successful Technical Product Owner at Evernorth/Cigna will:

  • Be transparent in the reality of the product situation and have the digital tool accurately reflect that reality
  • Be able to help author features and create user stories on your own
  • Accept, author or co-author features that meet the team's definition of ready
  • Create user stories that meet the team's definition of ready and are easily moved from the backlog and accepted into a sprint
  • Create user stories that specific and testable
  • Provide Sprint demo's that demonstrate value
  • Speak to and explain the why behind decisions around technical defects to lay people
  • Work with the team to ensure a successful co-owned release management process
  • Understand the difference between CI/CD deployment vs dark deploys vs big bang deploys
  • Be able to develop L2/L3 support documentation that gives the ability for L2/L3 support to triage your teams code base without assistance
  • As a team showcase team growth in outage and down time frequency reduction
  • As a team, learn from your Say/Do ratio to create positive change


Open to all journeys versus formal education; the ability to do the role and understand the technical challenges is the most important need.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 100,600 - 167,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
