Summary:

The Training and Development Specialist , a key player on the Communications Learning and Development (CLD) team, develops, builds, and helps manage aspects of G&J Pepsi's learning ecosystem. Their focus is working to serve internal customers by administering and overseeing all aspects of G&J's Learning Management System (LMS) and working with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to create training solutions that develop and build employee capabilities. They help to plan, develop, and implement training programs that support company strategic objectives. This position works closely with the CLD manager on learning technology projects and cross-functionally and independently with employee groups and SME's. Daily they document, develop, design, test, and deploy role-based learning paths, training plans,information resources, instructional materials, and learning tools to experienced and inexperienced learners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes advanced PowerPoint features and video authoring tools to create training videos and tutorials.
  • Reports on project progress, user adoption, enrollment, and training updates on a weekly basis.
  • Proofreads and edits own work and the work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates and utilizes effective communication, needs analysis, project management, creativity, and evaluation skills.
  • Provides technical leadership in LMS working with LMS provider and being a project lead on LMS development, tracking, upgrades, reporting, enhancements.
  • Creates and maintains communication channels to ensure employees receive information about learning events and information.
  • Acts as a liaison between L&D service and content providers to ensure the efficient functioning of the content and system.
  • Develops instructional materials, facilitator resources, and occasionally leads train-the-trainer sessions with subject matter experts, HR field teams, supervisors, and managers.
  • Manages the creation and modification of courses and learning plans in the LMS for various internal and external learning activities.
  • Monitors and manages LMS reporting in Power Bi, training records, learner enrollments, user profiles, certifications, and test scores.
  • Helps to conduct and build learning experiences using a variety of instructional techniques, such as group discussions, role-playing, lectures, videos, team exercises, and simulations.
  • Conducts training intake process with SMSs to gain the information needed to develop project learning plans, documenting the vision for the learner experience to ensure the highest level of usefulness, desirability, and training satisfaction. Recommends the appropriate delivery medium (e.g., on-line, in-person) and go-live date.
  • Works closely with Capabilities Specialist and departments to deliver technology training on the LMS to key areas of the business.
  • Reviews LMS system performance proactively and provides customer service and responses to issues within the LMS.
  • Works with CLD team to develop, design, and implement creative and dynamic L&D branding for training and learner engagement.
  • Works with CLD team on special projects as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field/career experience.

Experience: Experience in developing and leading projects, customer support, course development, video editing, and training preferred. Experience with the food and beverage industry is highly desired. Preference for people who have experience with LMS or HRIS systems is ideal.

Technology Skills: Must be proficient in operating computers, tablets, and smartphones. Must be proficient in Office 365 apps, SharePoint 2019, and video editing software. Must have advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint). Experience with Power BI is preferred.
