Job Purpose/Overview

To promote and support a culture of progressive and sustainable Associate competencies by providing accessible tools and engaging training programs, which will encourage associate development and empowerment.This is done through identifying gaps and providing opportunities for training to fill these gaps then progressing beyond for continued development within all Associate roles.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with associates at all levels to assess performance based training needs & priorities within site
Perform job/task analyses to determine performance objectives, identify curriculum/skill gaps, and assist in site labor studies
Coordinate with area experts to develop effective training curriculum and assessments relevant to the business needs and future trends
Design, develop, implement and evaluate functional training programs for improving Associate capabilities, changes to area processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Develop training scope and project statement according to site leadership directives, CVS and Engineering demands. Negotiate resources and timelines according to mutual goals
Obtain curriculum validation through site area trainers, initiate relevant revisions, revalidate as necessary
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness for established programs
Ensure site safety and quality compliance trainings are updated, delivered, and tracked as per established timelines
Oversee Train the Trainer and Master Trainer program across site, ensuring sufficient opportunities and high quality training for each identified area trainer
Monitoring effectiveness of site certified training team and knowledge assessors according to the established KPI, developing and coordinating correction actions accordingly
Collaborate with site administration to create/maintain new on-boarding initiatives & course facilitation
Leverage current ways of working (FMOS, MRF, MSE) to effectively communicate skills gaps as identified within site Skills Matrix
Maintain accurate documentation of training records, and site compliance standards through Skills Matrix and other reporting
Cooperate with external training centers (e.g. vendors, other Mars Wrigley sites) to obtain necessary training opportunities, or knowledge capture as necessary
Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits related to training and all correlating documentation
Assist Quality and Safety teams in preparing site standard documentation

Context and Scope

Develop training curriculum: virtual, written, and instructor led
Create/validate effective performance competency assessments capturing appropriate KSAO requirements for each task
Teach, coach and assess OPL (One Point Lesson) methodology across site
Maintain accurate work instruction database for each area within the site
Prepare verbal/written communication to all levels of the organization
Execute, teach, coach and assess the 7 steps of performance based training regularly
Facilitate group meetings
Become a Master Trainer by passing the Master Trainer Program
Teach, coach and assess E&T Methodology
Deliver or assist in execution of internal & external assessments as it pertains to training or training effectiveness
Interview subject matter experts to obtain appropriate information to use to teach, coach and assess others.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Qualification
High school diploma/GED and 4 or more years training experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience developing training programs/materials
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience leading continuous improvement & lean manufacturing training
Ability to interact and influence all organizational levels; open to change and input from diverse workforce
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Management or a related technical field
Experience completing full training cycles (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
Experience with instructional design theory and implementation

2. Knowledge/Experience
Basic computer skills for developing, presenting and updating training materials.
Superior written and oral communication skills
