Position Description:
SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the UK GSC Manager is to manage the European business for ORTEC products in the UK.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily functions of the European GSC based in the UK
- Manage the UK service engineers and service administrator
- Manage the UK field service activities including the service contract business
- Monitor and work towards goals to reduce repair cycle times
- Monitor and ensure field service calls are performed in a timely way
- Manage the shipping process and associated documentation
- Manage the order entry and customer invoicing processes
- Perform field service calls, repairs and installations
- Provide technical support to customers and distributors
- Provide on-site customer training
- Provide distributor training
- Provide monthly service forecasts to the EMEAI Regional Manager
- Provide weekly business updates to the EMEAI Regional Manager
- Provide technical support to UK Service Centre engineers and European service engineers
- Provide technical support to European Sales team
- Hold regular (monthly) service meetings to ensure efficient operation of the business
- Review all procedures to seek more efficient working methods
- Seek out new opportunities to grow the service contract business

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/REQUIREMENT
1) Experience in field service maintenance and instrument bench repair
2) Ability to use electronic business tools (computer, email, internet, telephone)
3) High level (technical discussion) knowledge of English language
4) Strong interpersonal skills
5) Strong organizational skills
6) Ability to drive
7) Practical users knowledge of electronic instrumentation
8) Experience in using gamma spectroscopy instrumentation systems

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
