We are... PPG UX, a team of UX / UI designers, and UX researchers working on Protecting and Beautifying the World. Looking for a talented, highly motivated, and technically excellent senior user experience service designer to join our team. Located in the Pittsburgh area, though we are currently working from home. Early in our digital transformation journey, which means your work will have global impact.

Part of the UX Center of Excellence, which means that you will have a chance to shape the design practice at PPG. You are... Curious, creative, friendly, and organized. Observant and detail oriented. Passionate about UX research, qualitative and quantitative. Proficient in creating effective communication artifacts. Open to criticism, but also able to defend your work. Thriving on multidisciplinary collaboration. Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Interested in digital transformation and AI. Thoughtful about integrating AI predictions into established workflows. Versed in behavior change and data collection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in squads with UX designers and researchers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
  • Observe, collect, map, and effectively communicate processes, experiences, pain points, and improvement opportunities
  • Create relevant artifacts such as process maps, journey maps, service blueprints, storyboards, mockups, etc...
  • Plan, execute and analyze experiments, propose process changes for data collection and integration of (AI) insights.
  • Communicate to extended teams, rationalizing decisions based on data, our brand, accessibility improvement, or research.
  • Measure the impact of your design decisions on user behavior and outcomes
  • Promote human-centered design thinking throughout PPG.


  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer aided design, or similar
  • 4+ years of relevant UX experience
  • A detailed understanding of HCD and Service Design processes and methods while familiar with common design and mapping tools.
  • Strong experience with common design and mapping tools such as but not limited to Figma, Mural, etc...
  • Experience with A/B testing, usage analytics, and other qualitative methods, as well as with common qualitative UX research methods.
  • Experience completing projects as part of a team and supporting product managers.
  • Strong communication skills
