Responsibilities

We are currently seeking anOperations Managerfor the Dematic Warehouse located in theMemphis, TN. The Operations Manager will have financial, operational and leadership responsibility for the facility while delivering results against the financial plan. The Operations Manager will provide leadership while focusing on customer requirements, operational performance and motivating the workforce.





Position Summary:



The successful candidate will define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness. Area of responsibility has moderate strategic impact. Develop and manage departmental budgets and/or business plans for a large department or business unit or division. Has substantial latitude to develop policies/programs for area of responsibility or products and to forecast their impact; Analyze effectiveness of policies/products and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs or products that affect company as a whole; Align policies/products and development efforts with company strategies. Identify resource needs with significant influence on approval of identified needs. Troubleshoot and resolve most complex problems within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas. Determine organizational structures and supervisory relationship. Responsible for overall success of function or project within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas.



Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate daily execution of receiving, order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities of all areas of warehouse operations.

  • Develop labor standards for manpower planning in all functional areas and future capacity requirements.

  • Determine resource needs for ongoing training and for maintenance of warehouse facilities and equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate records and reporting relating to all areas of warehouse operations.

  • Build and maintain a professional working relationship with internal and external customers.

  • Monitor and address customer feedback and issues to improve Net Promoter Score.

  • Resolve quality, warranty, inventory, systems, and employee issues in a timely manner.

  • Lead the team in achieving target KPIs for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and On-time Delivery.

  • Ability to develop and coach the workforce for continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and facilitate the daily activities of all direct reports (including but not limited to assignment of tasks, necessary instructions, review of completed tasks and disciplinary actions necessary).



Requirements:



  • At least 7-10 years advanced experience in a warehouse operations management. Hands-on WMS and inventory control experience required.

  • Prior experience in Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodology.

  • A proponent of change management - encourages change and creative problem solving.

  • Ensure customer requirements are understood and met for all order types.

  • Continually evaluate staffing plans, equipment, and facility resources to support continued growth.

  • Manage and ensure timely associate performance reviews, development, succession planning, on-boarding and development of the Management team.

  • Must be responsible and able to work independently.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.

  • Make timely adjustments to team assignments to balance flow of various order types through pick, pack, and ship processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer presentations and reviews.

  • Ability to work accurately at a detailed level.
  • SAP / SAP EWM proficiency is a plus.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools for analyzing data.



Education:



  • Bachelors Degree or advanced degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related operations discipline.



Direction of Others:



  • Direct Supervisor of multiple exempt and non-exempt level employees and/or other managers, as well as administrative personnel.
