Conducts tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil by performing the following responsibilities.

Hours of Operation:

2nd Shift Scheduled Hours - (Monday Friday) 2:15pm 11:00pm plus overtime hours if scheduled which may include weekends.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Responsible for the effective treatment of wastewater resulting from ClosetMaid cleaning processes. Wastewater treatment prior to discharge will ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.

  • Maintains all wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) system logs. Maintains accurate records on chemical usage and on all wastes generated by the facility.

  • Tests wastewater, cooling water and monitoring concentrations in all chemical baths used in ClosetMaid cleaning operations. All testing is conducted in a laboratory environment using standard lab testing and housekeeping procedures.

  • Identifies WWTP problems when they arise and diagnoses them quickly and correctly. Problems will involve piping, pumps, instrumentation and chemistry. Problems, which cannot be corrected departmentally, must be addressed through the ClosetMaid work order system.

  • Works closely with both Coating and Paint-line department supervisors to help identify and process problems or system changes.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

  • Maintains an accurate chemical inventory. Ensures all drums are labeled correctly and are being stored in compliance with DEP regulations.

  • Generates purchase requisitions as needed for the removal of waste materials. Works with material handling equipment including, pallet jacks, forklifts, and drum cradles.

  • Maintains accurate records of plant environmental events and lab results. Inaccurate records could result in court actions and severe fines. This position has a high degree of accountability and reliability.


  • High School Diploma/GED

  • At least 6 months experience

  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment and maintain regular attendance

  • Must be able to work overtime as business need dictates.
