Founded in 1830, Capital University is a mid-sized, comprehensive, private university whose community values of diversity, free inquiry, ethical reflection and civic engagement are strongly promoted within the Lutheran tradition of higher education. The University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in an atmosphere of personal attention to students. The academic units at Capital University include the College and the Law School. Five schools comprise the College: School of Natural Sciences, Nursing, and Health; School of Management and Leadership; School of Social Sciences and Education; Conservatory of Music and School of Communication; and School of Humanities. The University enrolls approximately 3,600 students, including 2,200 traditional undergraduates.
