Job Summary
An organization is seeking a Junior Access Control Specialist (Part-Time, On-Call) to support advanced research, development, testing, and evaluation environments. This role focuses on facility security, visitor management, and administrative coordination within a secure, high-technology defense environment.
What You Can Expect to Do:
Manage visitor control processes, including greeting and documenting all visitors
Monitor and control access to secure facilities and restricted areas
Verify personnel credentials, security clearances, and visit requests
Provide administrative and scheduling support for meetings and events
Coordinate logistics including meeting setups, communications, and resources
Manage IT/AV equipment for meetings and events
Arrange catering and refreshments when needed
Create and manage proxy badges and visitor access credentials
Process visitor requests and verify clearances using security systems
Enforce security procedures such as device registration and restricted item handling
Sort and distribute mail
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and maintain security documentation
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with filing and document management
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage sensitive and classified information
Understanding of and ability to follow standard operating procedures
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance and/or SAP/SCI access
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DISS and BASICS II systems
