Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Catastrophe Advisory team at Guy Carpenter as an AI Integration Specialist. This role will be based in New York or Philadelphia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.Program Duration: Our co-op program is full time (~40 hour commitment per week) and runs from August to December 2026.
As a member of our team, you will join a group of Catastrophe Advisors and will collaborate closely with data analysts, scientists, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders from various internal teams. You will contribute to streamlining workflows that support impactful analyses on a wide range of quantitative and qualitative topics, helping to shape strategic decisions and innovative solutions.
We will count on you to:
- Help develop AI-enabled tooling to automate and streamline manual data processing tasks used by the Catastrophe Advisory team
- Create capabilities to compare and reconcile different versions of data, producing standardized outputs and summary controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate the tools into existing workflows and ensure usability
- Drive iterative prototyping, testing, and refinement to improve reliability, performance, and user adoption
- Produce user-facing documentation, training materials, and ongoing operational support for deployed tools
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Take part in internal initiatives, offering ideas and feedback to improve outcomes
What you need to have:
- Practical experience applying AI techniques (including machine learning and modern large-language models) to automate processes
- Pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and analytical concepts
- An expected graduation date of May 2027 or May 2028 is preferred
- Strong academic record in major and work experience is more important than the field of study
- Curious and proactive mindset: desire and ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion
- Robust data management skills: ability to manipulate, interpret, and extrapolate complex data
- Superior communication and presentation skills: an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with financial aptitude
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and effective interpersonal skills
- A desire and ability to grow beyond your current capabilities
- Capacity to progress multiple projects at the same time
- Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

- Experience in the insurance industry at an insurance company, reinsurance broker, reinsurer, or catastrophe model software vendor
- Experience using Microsoft SQL, Alteryx, large-language models, or Databricks

The applicable hourly rate for this role is $27.00.

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $52,800 to $87,200.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
