Position Summary
The Application Analyst Associate will develop data models in Oracle and SQL server environments using PLSQL and stored procedures to refresh data sources. They will provide expertise on Oracle database related development efforts, including Banner, Operational Data Store ( ODS ), Data Warehouse, Argos reporting tool, etc. This position will also manage and coordinate database level security to these systems, including setting up triggers for application level fine-grained access.
The Application Analyst Associate will develop solutions in PL/ SQL and SQL and conduct reviews, on as-needed basis, of PL/ SQL and SQL code written by other developers. This position will occasionally be required to work after-hours and on weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Knowledge of SQL query development, design principles, and database querying techniques.
- Knowledge of PL/ SQL programming concepts and development practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ( SSMS ) tools and functionality.
- Knowledge of T- SQL programming and stored procedure development methodologies.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database security concepts, standards, and best practices.
- Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load ( ETL ) processes and data integration principles that support accurate and efficient analytics.

Develop and optimize models to support Power BI Semantic Models and Reports
- Develop stored procedures and data pipelines to support daily refresh of data warehouse supporting Power BI reporting infrastructure
- Develop semantic models optimized for reusability while supporting departmentally distinct data definitions as necessary
- Populate and maintain data dictionary, acting as technical authority to support interdepartmental data governance processes
- Directly support reporting needs with appropriate functional offices and users
- Follow standard procedures, oversee technical development and testing of reports, dashboards, and procedures
- Author and maintain documentation to ensure freshness
- Support Functional and Technical personnel in fine-tuning current data models and reports, tuning for scalability and performance

Develop and enhance legacy Student Information Systems Reporting Environment
- Provide support for legacy reporting environments
- Support the development, deployment, and administration of Argos reporting
- Assist with tasks related to Operational Data Store ( ODS )-based reporting
- Assist in the implementation and support of Banner's ODS , including modifications to ETL processes and feeds from Banner to ODS .
- Write SQL queries to extract required information to conduct data analysis, build and interpret predictive models, and troubleshoot issues
- Compile data into meaningful data visualizations including dashboards, tables and graphs and present findings to team members, leadership and clients
- Coordinate Change Management for assigned production changes and coordinate enhancement releases
- Troubleshoot, manage, and support batch jobs and APIs used to support reporting processes
- Manage monitoring facilities related to reporting processes

- Maintain custom database level roles for Banner, Operational Data Store, Microsoft Fabric workspaces and SQL servers. Revise access level for these roles as needed.

- Communicate database security measures with other developers in an effort to support appropriate use and protection of institutional data
- Gather information as requested by management in support of internal and state audits.
