Corporate Safety Director

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate Safety Director to lead, implement, and continuously enhance our organization's safety, health, and compliance programs across multiple locations. This leadership role is responsible for fostering a strong culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing risk, and supporting operational excellence throughout the company.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and hands-on safety professional with expertise in safety management, regulatory compliance, employee training, risk reduction, DOT compliance, contractor management, and workers' compensation administration. This individual will collaborate closely with employees, managers, and executive leadership to develop and maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
Position Details:
Location: Louisville, Kentucky (Onsite)
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 annually
Experience: 5-7+ years preferred
Travel: Up to 30% travel required
Certification: ASP or CSP preferred, but not required
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance Leadership
Lead and oversee company-wide safety and health programs across multiple facilities.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA, environmental regulations, and Workers' Compensation requirements.
Develop, implement, maintain, and update safety policies, procedures, and written safety programs.
Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve workplace safety outcomes.
Analyze safety data and provide leadership with reports and actionable recommendations.
Incident Investigation & Risk Management
Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, near-misses, and vehicle accidents.
Identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
Partner with leadership teams to reduce risk and strengthen safety performance
Training & Employee Engagement
Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.
Track and ensure completion of required training and compliance initiatives.
Lead safety awareness campaigns, presentations, and educational programs.
Establish and support corporate and branch-level safety committees.
Workers' Compensation & Contractor Compliance
Administer and oversee the Workers' Compensation program, including claims management, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Manage contractor pre-qualification and compliance platforms, including ISNetworld, Avetta, and similar systems.
Support department leaders in enforcing safety policies and best practices throughout the organization.
DOT Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including:
Driver Qualification Files
Hours of Service (HOS)
Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance
CDL drug and alcohol testing programs
Vehicle maintenance and inspection records
Federal and state transportation regulations
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in a Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator, EHS Manager, Safety Director, or related leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA, and environmental regulations.
Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
Experience managing multi-site safety programs.
Experience administering contractor compliance platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, or similar systems.
