Description
Job Summary
Performs diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work on marine diesel equipment, including engines, components, and related systems. Provides field service support on vessels at dock or at sea, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Assists senior technicians on complex jobs while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on marine equipment.
Identify and order parts required for repairs and maintenance.
Perform standard repairs and replace faulty components as needed.
Conduct routine maintenance according to established schedules.
Complete work orders and timesheets accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist senior technicians with complex field service tasks.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Follow all quality standards and safety procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with 2–4 years of related experience.
Technical certification in diesel or automotive repair required.
Experience with diesel engine repair preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Skills & Abilities
Basic computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and laptop-based systems.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
Good communication and time management abilities.
Dependable and able to work independently or in a team environment.
Working Conditions
Field-based work on vessels at dock or at sea, requiring physical activity and adherence to safety procedures.
