Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain and repair mixer trucks including the mixers and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair/replace and recognized failure systems on trucks and mixers including electrical, hydraulic components, steering systems, brake systems
- Coordinate with supervisor to schedule and perform preventative maintenance and regular service
- Operated shop tools (i.e. power trill, air tools, chipping guns and scalers, impact guns, welding equipment, cutting torch)
- Coordinate with supervisor to ensure proper parts and supplies are available when needed
- Drive repaired and/or broken mixer trucks/equipment when necessary
- Operate all vehicles and equipment in a safe manner at all times
- Maintain current working knowledge of equipment specifications on all equipment serviced
- Travel to location of disabled equipment to fix, repair or diagnose problem(s) as needed
- Other duties as assigned by maintenance manager
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid commercial driver's license (A or B) with clean driving record
- At least one year experience in diesel maintenance or related field
- Proficiency in diagnostic equipment
- Ability to utilize basic mathematical concepts
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated heights
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
- Ability to climb, push, pull, bend, twist
- Ability to get in and out of loader and other equipment
- Ability to get through the hatch of a concrete drum to perform interior maintenance
Education / Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (A or B) with clean driving record
- 2+ years of mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel trucks, preferably in a fleet environment
Work Environment
- Majority of work performed indoors in climate-controlled area
- Intermittent exposure to elements of weather
- Periodic elevated noise levels
- Frequent exposure to dust, diesel fuel, lubricants and other substances
- Occasional exposure to confined spaces
