Description

Akamai Intelligence is seeking a skilled and dependable Electronic Security Maintenance Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems across multiple client locations. This role requires a highly mobile technician who can independently travel to sites, diagnose issues, and ensure security systems remain fully operational and compliant with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair access control systems, CCTV/video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems (IDS), including associated cabling and hardware.
• Travel to multiple customer sites to respond to service calls, preventative maintenance schedules, and emergency repair needs.
• Review and interpret blueprints, electrical layouts, and building plans to ensure proper system installation and functionality.
• Receive, prioritize, and respond to work orders; diagnose system issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to complete repairs and ensure work meets company and regulatory standards.
• Program, configure, and test security systems, including adding devices such as card readers, cameras, and alarm points.
• Conduct system testing and inspections to verify proper operation and compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and on-site personnel during service visits.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation of completed work.
• Assist with procurement by researching equipment, recommending solutions, and obtaining quotes for repairs or upgrades.
• Support project coordination efforts, including budget awareness and scheduling of work activities.
• Review system designs for new construction or upgrades to ensure alignment with security requirements and best practices.
• Train end users and internal personnel on system functionality and basic troubleshooting.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, products, and industry best practices in electronic security systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience installing, programming, and maintaining electronic security systems.
• Hands-on experience with systems such as Hirsch, Bosch, Lenel, or similar platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently in the field.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple service calls across different locations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
  Driving Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently between job sites, sometimes on short notice.
• Must be comfortable driving for extended periods and navigating to various locations within the assigned service area.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily field-based and requires travel to customer sites. Work may be performed in a variety of environments, including commercial buildings, construction sites, and outdoor locations.
