Description
The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology is searching for PhD guest researchers to spend one (1) year (or more) on the Gaithersburg Maryland campus working with the HVAC&R Equipment Performance Group of the Engineering Laboratory to advance the goals of developing refrigerants and technologies for safe and reliable HVAC systems. The guest researcher must be self-funded; NIST will not be providing a salary or stipend of any kind. The guest researcher must have knowledge, skills, and interest in refrigerant property measurements, heat exchanger design, and HVAC system performance evaluation. In addition, knowledge and experimental work on high-temperature industrial heat pumps for real industrial processes is a plus. Knowledge and experience in low global warming refrigerant testing and experimental investigation with these refrigerants in vapor compression cycles is a must. Qualifications include knowledge and experimental work on high-temperature industrial heat pumps for real industrial processes, and on low global warming refrigerant testing. A record of publication in these areas is required.
