Description
COUNTER SALESCounter Sales team members are motivated individuals with developed interpersonal and communication skills used to serve customers and other members of the branch team. Insides Sales maintain a thorough understanding of the HVACR industry as well as ongoing education on changing industry trends. They are able to work with one another as a team. A great counter person not only performs their duties at the counter but also pitches in with all functions of the store when needed (in other words, "must be a team player"). This position can be a fast-paced position , applicants must be able to multitask to handle multiple situations. As an Inside Sales Team Member, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers while driving sales growth. You will be a direct representation of the face of our company. Which means your perspective will be key in shaping how to carry out goals set for branch sales, profitability, and customer/team member perception.
Accountable to Lead Counter and Branch Manager for:
- Sales Generation:
- Proactively reach out to existing and potential customers to generate sales leads, identify opportunities, and promote our products and services.
- Develop a deep understanding of our product offerings to effectively present and cross-sell products to customers.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions, recommendations, and quotations.
- Follow up on customer inquiries, orders, and quotations in a timely and professional manner.
- Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and technical specifications related to HVACR products.
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information is available to customers and train customers to boost line-item sales, ensure proper installation and sales coupling to maintain warranty.
- Provide technical support to customers by answering product-related questions and troubleshooting issues.
- Order Processing and Documentation:
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. "Every order filled or shipped same day"
- Maintain proper documentation of sales orders, customer interactions, and other relevant information that will help us succeed as a team.
- Coordinate with the operations team to track order status, resolve any issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Help answer the phones within 3 rings
- Assist in maintaining premises and branch in cleanliness/orderliness/safety/ and store hours
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members within the branch and coordination among branches, including outside sales representatives, warehouse manager and employees, purchasing and product specialists and marketing to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Continued Education through every means available and necessary
- Undertake all required training and education, and independently seek new skills or information, which will contribute to your ability to keep your branch profitable and cohesive within the Johnstone Cafferty Group.
- Share market intelligence, customer feedback, and sales insights to improve overall team performance.
- To be the face of Johnstone and uphold our values in all public and private interactions to the best of your ability.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, field experience or tech school preferred.
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of the HVACR industry and products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Proven ability to receive and give criticism productively in order to mitigate drama
- Proficient in using current software and E-commerce or parts-look up tools
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a strong drive for sales success.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
