Description
Envirotech Engineering & Consulting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Licensed Driller / Monitoring Well Installer to join our new drilling crew based out of our Midland, Texas office.
The Licensed Driller / Monitoring Well Installer will be responsible for operating and maintaining an air rotary drill rig for monitoring well installation, geotechnical borings, and water well work throughout Texas and Oklahoma. This position will lead a two-to-three-person drilling crew and will be expected to work independently, make field decisions, troubleshoot equipment and drilling conditions, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain an air rotary drill rig for monitoring well installation, geotechnical borings, and water well work.
- Perform drilling operations at oil and gas, industrial, and municipal project sites throughout Texas and Oklahoma.
- Read subsurface formations while drilling and adjust drilling techniques based on changing field conditions.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and drilling challenges, including lost circulation, caving formations, and stuck tools.
- Install and develop monitoring wells.
- Collect soil and groundwater samples.
- Maintain accurate field logs and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Lead and mentor a driller's helper while managing a safe and efficient two-to-three-person crew.
- Perform routine maintenance and pre-trip inspections of drilling rigs and support equipment.
- Perform minor field repairs and address equipment issues as needed.
- Follow all company and job-site safety procedures.
- Travel to project sites throughout Texas and Oklahoma as required.
What you’ll make:
- Base Pay: $100,000/year base salary DOE, with a path to $150k+ for drillers who bring their own crew or specialty rock-coring experience.
- Per Diem: a daily per diem on any job requiring travel outside the Midland service radius, paid weekly.
- Annual Bonus: Performance and safety bonus paid out annually.

Requirements
- Active Texas Well Driller License, including the TDLR "M" Monitoring Well Endorsement, or eligibility to obtain the endorsement quickly.
- Hands-on experience operating air rotary, mud rotary, and auger drilling equipment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions and use sound judgment when dealing with changing drilling and field conditions.
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical field work.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable West Texas weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced oil and gas client environment.
- Strong safety-first mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with a small drilling crew.
