In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.
Process Overview:
Partnering with stakeholders across the organization to oversee the development and use of Fraud Authorization and claim data systems and discover ways to organize, store and analyze data / metadata for fraud life cycle as efficiently as possible. Identify, assess and communicate potential data quality issues in the way data is collected, stored and used.
Job Description:
Experienced analytical professional to join our team as a Data Governance Analyst. For this position, strong understanding of data processing and data analytics are necessary. In addition, the role requires strong written and verbal communications skills as the expectation is to communicate and influence both vertically and horizontally within organization.
Responsibilities
Some tasks that this role may be responsible for include (but are not limited to):
- Define and operationalize data governance standards, policies and control procedures across critical data elements and business processes
- Design and enhance data quality controls, business rules and validation checks to improve accuracy, completeness, consistency and regulatory compliance of data
- Monitor data flows, lineage, metadata and upstream/downstream dependencies to assess risks that may impact reporting, analytics and business decisions
- Analyze data issues, perform root-cause assessments, and partner with business and technology teams to remediate exceptions in line with defined governance standards
- Prepare governance dashboards, executive updates and insight-driven reports on data quality, control effectiveness, issue trends and remediation progress
- Establish and maintain data access, usage and sharing standards to support secure, compliant and fit-for-purpose consumption of data assets
- Support internal and external audits by managing governance artefacts, control evidence, stakeholder discussions and closure of findings
- Partner as a product owner with business and technology teams to translate governance needs into requirements, prioritize backlog items, define acceptance criteria, and support delivery of data products and controls
Requirements :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree is desired, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science. Post graduate degree is a plus
Experience :
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- U.S financial services experience preferable
Certifications : Technical certifications in SAS, SQL preferred
Foundational Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related control/governance functions
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, metadata, lineage, and control requirements
- Proactive prod monitoring - DQ rule implementation & monitoring or prior data platform prod support experience
- Knowledge of reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau or similar platforms
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and SAS for data analysis, validation, and issue investigation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to partner with business, operations, technology, risk, and compliance teams across a complex organization
- Highly organized with strong project, priority, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
- Executive presence with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across all levels of the organization
Desired Skills:
- Solution Architecture experience (not data modeling). Prototyped/built agentic AI capability + Python programming
- UX /Design experience with any tool e.g. FIGMA/similar design tool experience to create mockups
- Data (workflow) automation experience - for Ops dataset automation work - Perf. Scorecards, Workforce/Loss metrics
