Description

Furlow Associates, Inc. is seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer or Designer.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience working for a consulting engineering firm providing similar services as Furlow.  Salary will be based on prior experience.

Furlow Associates, Inc. has been in continuous operation since 1941 and has developed a comprehensive engineering practice.  Engineering services provided by the firm include mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical assessments, design and bid documents including drawings and specifications, and construction administration.  Our services are typically provided for educational facilities, medical facilities, commercial and private institutions.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with some of these types of facilities, with the initiative to learn others.

Requirements

Mechanical Engineer or Designer Responsibilities

-  Work as part of a design team
-  Survey existing mechanical systems
-  Perform mechanical calculations
-  Complete mechanical systems design
-  Coordinate with mechanical equipment vendors
-  Prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications
-  Complete shop drawing review
-  Perform site review to confirm installed mechanical systems meet design requirements

Qualifications

-  Minimum of five years relevant experience
-  Time management skills
-  Strong teamwork skills
-  Familiarity with Carrier HAP / Trane Tracer programs 
-  Plumbing design experience a plus
-  Revit, AutoCAD experience a plus
