Description

This position exists to provide comprehensive support within the OSOW Permits Call Center and the Minnesota SUPERLOAD Permit software by managing incoming inquiries and delivering accurate permit-related guidance to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, routing, and issuing oversize/overweight permit applications under the direction of the Permits Supervisor or designee. This role provides technical information, customer service, and decision-making support to specialized motor carriers and industry partners

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1 year of experience in performing the following tasks:

• Experience with oversize/overweight various equipment, machinery and vehicle configurations required to transport loads OR have been a driver/operator for a specialized transportation company hauling oversize/overweight loads; (e.g., mobile homes, construction or farm machinery, mobile cranes, commercial boats, etc.)
• Experience with MN vehicle size and weight laws, road postings, and laws governing commercial motor vehicles.
• Ability to understand Minnesota state highway system and basic map reading.
• Math skills sufficient to calculate weight and spacing.
• Communication and customer service skills sufficient to provide clear guidance and customer support . interaction through telephone communications, email, etc.
