Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Evening and Weekend Coordinator provides staff, faculty and student support after 5 pm (weekdays) and on Saturday (weekend). He or She ensures smooth instructional operation across campus after hours. He or She collaborates with other departments to provide evening and weekend students with daytime equivalent experiences. He or She provides oversight for evening and weekend college operations. He or She provides visible presence to ensure continuous quality college operations. He or She coordinates the flow of information and documents between evening/weekend instructors, divisions and administration. He or She is responsible for full oversight and implementation of operational processes/procedures and policies for a Lone Star-CyFair Campus during evening and weekend hours (Saturday). He or She collects and analyzes data, prepares scheduled and special reports, and maintains program/project records and statistical information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide staff, faculty and student support when the Dean's Suites are closed. Assist with classroom problems, sign postings, complaints/concerns, directions, general campus information, class specific information, end of semester check out, supplies, room access and room/lab requests.
- Create and update marketing materials for the Evening and Weekend College Program. This includes creating and designing flyers, brochures, posters, webpage(s) and informational handouts.
- Resolve faculty and student concerns in a timely manner: includes instructional services, building, grounds, facility issues, security needs, classroom assignments, classroom problems, textbook distribution, and supplies
- Collaborate with other departments to provide non-traditional evening and weekend students with daytime equivalent experiences.
- Maintain database to send nightly, weekly and semester reports to Divisions. Prepare additional reports as needed.
- Provide a visible presence on campus in the evenings and on weekends. Monitor phone system and email accounts.
- Open and secure classrooms, labs and student spaces as needed.
- Responsible for determining the severity of emergency situations and required action including evacuation, closure or other emergency responses.
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
- Oversee and implement of operational processes/procedures and policies for a Lone Star-CyFair Campus during evening and weekend hours.
- Provide administrative support in the development, implementation, and marketing of program/project function during evening hours.
- Collect and analyze data to prepare scheduled and special reports. Maintain program/project records and statistical information, including Evening and Weekend student satisfaction and Evening and Weekend classes
- Plan, prepare, implement and manage campus events during evening hours.
- Work with department chairs on identifying needs of their adjunct faculty during the evening hours.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to handle emergency situations as the evening administrator in charge
- Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and prioritize workloads
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and management skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy with Microsoft Word/Outlook, spreadsheets, and databases
- Conflict resolution skills
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
- Weekend and evenings hours
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary
Hourly Pay Rate is $21.82.
