Job Description:
Analyze, repair and maintain ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Equipment
Evacuate and recharge system. Remove freon from system by means of a recovery machine.
HVAC
When required will work with the Energy Management Technicians on resolving HVAC related issues.
Installations
Installs, inspects, operates and repairs appliances and HVAC equipment using necessary hand tools and testing equipment.
Repairs
Repairs freon leaks and retest for freon leaks.
Upgrades
Assist the Manager of Mechanical and Electrical Systems and the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Systems Supervisor in projects to upgrade and modify existing building HVAC systems.
Job Requirements:
Technical school training and minimum 5 years' experience.
Must be licensed to purchase and recover refrigerant in the State of Rhode Island.
Must hold current RI refrigeration and/or RI pipe fitter Journeyman license.
Must have 5 years' experience in a corporate/commercial type setting, maintaining HVAC systems.
Must be extremely proficient in interpreting and understanding building drawings and documentation.
Perform any and all tasks required of the position without assistance and in a timely manner.
Must also demonstrate to the reasonable satisfaction of management, the ability to provide expert guidance, direction and remediation to levels III and/or II Refrigeration/Appliance/HVAC Technicians.
At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
