A leading organisation within the defence industry is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join their Business Management team on a full-time (38 hours per week) basis in Brisbane. This role offers the opportunity to work on a major, long-term defence program, partnering closely with operational and program stakeholders to support financial performance and decision-making.

Your new role
Working as a key finance partner, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis and planning to support program and organisational outcomes. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to operate in a highly governed environment.
Key responsibilities include:

• Monthly financial reporting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Annual and long-term financial planning
• P&L and balance sheet analysis to understand key cost drivers
• Financial modelling and "what-if" scenario analysis
• Supporting project financial management, including reporting, forecasting and invoicing
• Ensuring strong financial controls and data integrity
• Partnering with non-finance stakeholders to provide clear, actionable insights

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commercial, Project Management or a related discipline
• 5+ years' experience in financial analysis, commercial finance or business management roles
• NV1 security clearance strongly preferred
  • Candidates with Baseline clearance will also be considered
• Valid Defence Common Access Card (DCAC)
• Defence industry experience highly regarded
• Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate confidently with a broad range of internal stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a structured, compliance-driven environment
